Construction on 150 new affordable homes begins on former BT site in Ipswich
The Bibb Way development includes a mix of houses and flats
Work on 150 new homes, which will be available for an affordable rent, has begun in Ipswich.
The site on Bibb Way was used by BT until 2015 but has since lain derelict.
It will now be transformed by the contruction of a flats and houses, all powered by solar panels and including energy efficient heating systems.
The project is being led by Ipswich Borough Council's construction company Handford Homes.
Colin Kreidewolf, Chair, Handford Homes, says: “As part of a bigger initiative to provide affordable homes in Ipswich, Handford Homes will deliver over 300 properties over the next three years."

The first new homes as set to be available by 2024.
