Chiedozie Ogbene joins Ipswich Town from Luton
He's signed a four year contract
Ipswich Town have completed the signing of Chiedozie Ogbene from Luton Town.
The 27-year-old winger, who made 30 Premier League appearances for the Hatters last season, has penned a four-year deal at Portman Road for an undisclosed fee.
Chiedozie will wear the number 21 shirt for Town and will start training with his new teammates immediately.
“I’m very excited and feel lucky to have this opportunity to play in the Premier League again,” Chiedozie told TownTV.
“I’ve had very positive chats with the manager and for someone to believe in me that I could play at this level again means a lot to me and my family.
“I know what he wants from me and the role I will play and I’m here to be a positive addition to the squad as we look to achieve our goals.
“It’s an opportunity I had to grab with both hands and I can’t wait to be involved as soon as possible.”
Chiedozie represented Cork City and Limerick during his youth career before moving to Brentford in 2018. After a loan spell at Exeter City he then made the switch to Rotherham in 2019.
He featured more than 130 times during his four-year spell with the Millers, signing for Luton in 2023.
Chiedozie scored four times in the Premier League last season and registered the second fastest top speed of any player in the top flight, behind only Tottenham Hotspur’s Micky van de Ven.
He has also earned 20 caps for his national side, the Republic of Ireland.
