Cannabis factory discovered in Saxmundham
Cannabis plants with a street value of around £200,000 were located at the end of last month
A large cannabis factory has been discovered in Saxmundham, after police were tipped off by a member of the public.
Officers raided an address in Ashfords Close at the end of last month (August 30), finding over 200 plants at the property.
The street value of the drugs being produced is estimated to be around £200,000.
A large amount of electrical and lighting equipment was also discovered.
Police are still trying to trace those responsible for the farm and are continuing to appeal for information.
Sgt Kelvin Wenden, of Suffolk Constabulary, said: “This information came from a single source, that enabled us to develop the intelligence and obtain the warrant which ultimately produced this find.
"This sort of information is the lifeblood of our work and is invaluable in helping us build a picture of criminal activity. We’re always very grateful for the support from the public.”
