An actor best know for his appearances in the hit series Call the Midwife has become the patron of an Ipswich based charity working with young people.

Zephrynn Taitte, who plays Cyril Robinson in the series, has taken on the role at 4YP - a group which aims to provide positive opportunities to local kids and prevent them falling into a life of crime.

Zephrynn even organised a trip to the set for a group of kids from 4YP, as part of a project aiming to boost confidence through drama.

The children were kitted out in period costumes and were given roles in the supporting cast during a day of filming last week.

4YP is based on Lower Brook Street in Ipswich and supports hundreds of local youngsters with activities, outreach and counselling.

Call the Midwife is set to return next year for a Christmas special.
