Bury St Edmunds crash victim named by police

Suffolk Police is continuing to ask witnesses to get in touch

A cyclist who died following a crash in Bury St Edmunds has been provisionally named by police.

Emergency services, including air ambulance, were called to reports of a collision involving a bicycle and blue Nissan Qashqai on Newmarket Road at 6pm on 12 April.

The cyclist died at the scene.

Pending formal inquest proceedings, he has been named as 65-year-old Stephen Lawrence from Risby.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has dash cam footage is asked to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, quoting reference 18229/21.
