A controlled explosion has been carried out in Lowestoft after an unidentified package was discovered on a retail park.

An Explosive Ordnance Disposal unit was called to the scene near the Gateway Retail Park on Tower Road this morning.

Road closures and a 100m cordon were put in place, both of which have now been lifted.

The package has been disposed by experts with a bomb disposal robot being sighted at the scene.
