Body of man found on East Suffolk beach

The body of a man has been discovered on a beach in East Suffolk.

Police were called to Covehithe (October 18) at around 6:50am this morning, with the Coastguard and ambulance service also attending the scene.

It's believed to be the body of a man in his 60s who went missing in the sea off Southwold yesterday (October 17).

The death is being treated as unexplained but not suspicious.

The man's next of kin have been informed.
