Bin collections suspended in East Suffolk

They'll resume next week

Following this week's severe weather, which led to the cancellation of all refuse collections in the district, East Suffolk Norse will resume collections on Monday (15 February).

'Catch up' collections will be taking place and during these, bagged side waste will be accepted.

Collection days will remain the same, however the particular bin being emptied may be different for the next two weeks to ensure all outstanding collections are completed. There will be double collections on some days.

All residents are usually divided in to one of two collection calendars - details for your revised collections are below.

You can also see what days your bins are usually collected by clicking here and clicking on 'Bin Collection Day Finder'.

For 'Calendar 1' households - your black/grey bins were not collected during this week, commencing 8 February.

These will now be collected next week, commencing 15 February. Bagged side waste will be accepted. Your green, recycling bins, however, will NOT be emptied.

During week commencing 22 February, recycling bins for 'Calendar 1' households will then be collected instead, as well as black/grey bins as normal. Bagged recycling side waste will be accepted this week.

For 'Calendar 2' households whose recycling bins were not collected during week commencing 8 February, these will now be collected during week commencing 15 February, at the same time as the scheduled black/grey bin collection. Only bagged recycling side waste will be accepted this week.

Recycling bins for 'Calendar 2' households will then be collected as normal during week commencing 22 February - recycling side waste will not be accepted this week.

These collections are subject to the weather conditions. All collections will return to the normal schedule from 1 March.

To enable crews to focus solely on the general household waste and recycling collections, garden waste collections will be suspended for two weeks and will resume on Monday 1 March.

This means that some households will unfortunately miss two scheduled garden waste collections, whilst some will miss one collection. We apologise for any inconvenience this causes however the clearing of normal waste and recycling during this difficult period is our priority.
