Teenage moped rider assaulted in Aldeburgh

A teenage moped rider was targeted

Police are appealing for witnesses to an assault that took place in Aldeburgh.

It happened on Tuesday (17 August) at some point between 4.45pm and 4.50pm on Saxmundham Road in Aldeburgh

A 17-year-old boy, was on his moped and was tailgated by a male in a silver Vauxhall Astra. The car then over took the moped and stopped in front of him causing the moped to break sharply.

The man in the car then got out of his car approached the youth on his moped and pushed him and spat in his face whilst being verbally aggressive and then got back in his car and drove off.

The suspect is described as about six foot, two inches tall, of slim build, with light brown hair, a tattoo on his right hand side of his face, and was aged in his late 30s.

Police understand there was a lady who was walking by who witnessed it and police believe she may have helpful information.
