Appeal after traffic cones thrown at moving cars on the A14 in Bury St Edmunds
Police say the incident is being taken extremely seriously.
Police are appealing for witnesses or information after two incidents involving traffic cones being thrown onto the A14.
Officers were called at just after 6pm on Tuesday 15 October to reports that a number of traffic cones had been thrown from a pedestrian bridge onto the eastbound carriageway of the A14, between junctions 43 and 42, at Bury St Edmunds.
A Ford Fiesta car collided with one of the cones in the carriageway causing damage to the vehicle.
Nobody was injured as a result.
A similar incident in the same location took place the night before on Monday 14 October at approximately 5:50pm.
Following Tuesday's incident, two white males wearing black clothing were seen running away from the footbridge on Raynham Road.
One of the males had a push scooter.
PC Jonathan Burke from the Roads and Armed Policing Team said; "This incident is being taken extremely serious by police. Although on both occasions no one has been injured, the implications of throwing objects in front of moving traffic could be catastrophic, leading to serious injury or even death."
