Ipswich Witches have signed former British Champion Adam Ellis ahead of the 2024 speedway season.

The 27 year old rode with Witches in 2013 and 2014 at the start of his career and has most recently spent time with Sheffield Tigers and Scunthorpe Scorpions.

He also has experience racing in Poland. Sweden and Denmark.

In an interview with the club website, Ellis said: “I spoke with (team manager Richie Hawkins) a few weeks before the season ended, and I didn’t really speak to him again until a few weeks after.”

“I had a few options, but I am looking forward to going back to Ipswich and I said to most of the guys if I was going to ride in England, I probably wanted to race in Ipswich because I know how Ritchie and Chris (Louis) work.

"The track can suit me pretty good, and I am looking forward to it.”

“Over the next month or so I will start to set targets, but the season only finished a few weeks ago and I have been doing everything but think about speedway!"

"I want to improve on the continent and in England from where I was in 2022. There will be a lot going on, but I am looking forward to starting afresh.”
