Police launch appeal for information after fatal collision near Stoke

The driver of one car was pronounced dead at the scene following the crash

Staffordshire Police are appealing for information and witnesses following a fatal collision near Stoke.

Officers were alerted to an incident taking place on the A34 Stone Road just after 8:30pm on Saturday night (November 2nd).

When responders arrived at the scene, they found a grey BMW estate and a black Renault Clio had collided on the southbound side of the road, close to Trentham Gardens and the Monkey Forest island.

Emergency services including the Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service and the West Midlands Ambulance Service were also called to the scene.

Paramedics gave immediate medical treatment to the driver of the BMW after arriving, but despite their best efforts, the driver - a 21-year-old man was pronounced dead.

A passenger within the BMW and the diver of the Renault Clio were also taken to hospital for their injuries, which are not believed to be life-threatening.

The force has now appealed to the public for information following the crash, and has urged those who were in the area to get in touch.

Anyone who may have been driving in the between the area of Trentham Gardens and Monkey Forest island at around 8:15pm on Saturday.
