Man banned from matches for five years after storming Port Vale pitch

A man has been banned from attending all regulated football matches for the next five years after going onto the pitch at a Port Vale Football Club home fixture.
Ted Piolunowicz, 63, from Stoke-on-Trent, ran onto the pitch during the team’s clash with Portsmouth on 27 January this year.
He is now banned from attending Port Vale and international fixtures for the next five years after pleading guilty to going onto the playing area at a football match at the North Staffordshire Justice Centre on Thursday (9 May).
As part of his sentencing, he has also been ordered to pay a fine of £253.

“We will continue to take positive action and work alongside football clubs in Staffordshire to proactively police football matches in the area.”
