A highways worker has suffered serious injuries, after an incident on the M6 near Knutsford Services.

They were closing lanes one and two on the Northbound carriageway on Friday 18th October, when a car crashed into one of the cones.

It then hit them, causing serious facial injuries.

The car, believed to be a white 2012 Mercedes, didn't stop at the scene.

PC Alex Whitehurst, from Cheshire Police, said: "As part of our ongoing investigation, we would like to speak to anyone who witnessed this incident.

"We are also urging anyone who was driving along this stretch of motorway at around this time to check their dashcam footage for anything which may be relevant to our enquiries."
