The body of a man in his 40s has been found outside an address in Longford Road, Cannock.

Staffordshire Police say they were called there in the early hours of yesterday morning (30th November).

His death is being treated as unexplained.

There's expected to be an increased police presence in the area as they investigate.

A Staffordshire police spokesperson, "We were called to Longford Road at around 4:30am on 30th November.

"Paramedics attempted CPR, but the body was sadly confirmed deceased a short time later.

"At this stage we are keeping an open mind about this incident, with the death remaining unexplained, and we are keen to establish the circumstances leading up to his death.

"The next of kin of the man, who was in his 40s, have been informed and are now being supported by specially trained officers.

"Anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious activity in the area or who has doorbell or dashcam footage of the area in the past eight hours are asked to contact 101 quoting incident number 110 of 30 November. Alternatively, for guaranteed anonymity, go to https://crimestoppers-uk.org/."
