Toure's agent claims City fans will turn to United after client's treatment
Toure could be on way out of City.
Yaya Toure’s agent has said Manchester City “will lose a lot of millions of supporters from Africa” due to the way the midfielder has been treated.
This statement has come from the 33-year old’s agent as he believes Toure has been mistreated and not being given enough game time on the pitch.
Dimitri Seluk claims he will have “rafts of offers” from English, Chinese and American clubs for the Ivorian midfielder when the transfer window opens again in January, despite not starting a game for City this season as well as being left out of the club’s champion league squad.
In January Seluk is looking for Toure to sign a pre contract agreement with another club and isn’t worried about Toure in the meantime. “It is three months to wait, no problem. Yaya is a very professional guy.”
Toure has been with City since July 2010 and has been very much a key player for the club in the last five years with 266 appearances and 75 goals.
However, he does not seem to be part of new manager Guardiola’s plan for the club as he has not returned to full form after a series of injuries from last season. However, Seluk says Toure “is in very good shape, very good condition.”
Seluk also stated that because of how Manchester City has treated Toure, many Africans say “they will never see any more matches of City on TV” and many of Toure’s fellow countrymen will start to support Manchester United because of this.
City fans have been reacting on twitter - not all of them have been impressed...
