14 memorable football celebrations
Some of these are quite inventive!
From Gazza's infamous celebration at Euro 96 to Totti grabbing a TV camera and pointing it at the Roma fans, we've got some of the most memorable and some pretty weird football celebrations too.
1. Paul Gascoigne - dentist's chair (1996) One of the most famous celebrations occurred during England's Euro 96 game against Scotland when Gazza did the 'dentist's chair' apparently recreating something from a night out.
2. Peter Crouch - Robot (2006) His robotic dance is said to be a parody of a dance he saw on a TV show about a party at David Beckham's house.
3. Finidi George - Urinating dog (1994) Playing for Nigeria in a group game against Greece Finidi chose to celebrate his goal by getting down on all fours.
4. Roger Milla - Wiggle (1990) When interviewed by the BBC in 2014 Roger said he hadn't planned the celebration, describing it as 'instinct'.
5. Gareth Bale - Heart (2010) Although the original celebration started in 2010 Gareth submitted a trademark application for his heart shape celebration in 2013 and it was approved!
6. Luis Suarez - Dive (2012) Suarez took the opportunity to dive in front of David Moyes following comments from the Everton manager that he was concerned some players were 'conning their way to results'.
7. Wayne Rooney - Boxing (2015) When a video emerged of Wayne being 'knocked out' by former teammate Phil Bardsley, he thought he would celebrate a goal by mocking it. However, after his son Kai copied his celebration at school Wayne said he wouldn't be repeating it.
8. Robbie Keane - Cartwheel, forward roll, gun fingers The rather acrobatic celebration has become a firm favourite way for Robbie to celebrate his many goals.
9. Daniel Sturridge - Sturridge Squirm Apparently this celebration started as a joke between Daniel, his brothers and cousins. His preferred celebration would be putting his shirt over his head, but that would now result in a yellow card.
10. Mario Balotelli - Why is it always me? (2011) When Mario scored against Manchester United his celebration was to reveal a shirt which said 'Why is it always me?'. It had apparently been printed by the Manchester City kit man, Les Chapman.
11. Temuri Ketsbaia - Angry kick (1998) Temuri is remembered for scoring a last minute winner against Bolton Wanderers when he took off his shirt and started kicking the advertising hoardings, apparently to relieve his frustration at being left out of the Newcastle starting line-up.
12. Robbie Fowler - Snorting the white line (1999) After converting a penalty Robbie celebrated by pretending to snort one of the white lines as if it was cocaine, however he was later fined and banned for four games.
13. Francesco Totti - Grabs camera (2004) Francesco celebrated his goal against arch-rivals Lazio by grabbing a TV camera and turning it towards the cheering fans. More recently he has celebrated a goal by taking a selfie of himself with the fans.
14. Lomana LuaLua - Somersaults Not content with just one somersault Lomana regularly does seven back flips and a backward somersault.
