Man dead and toddler in critical condition after car hits pedestrians in Barnsley
Police were called to the Worsbrough area yesterday
A man has died and a toddler is in a life threatening condition in hospital after a car struck two pedestrians in Barnsley yesterday.
Police were called at 11:41am yesterday (December 22) to West Street in the Worsbrough area.
A blue VW Polo was involved in the collision, striking a wall.
A 56 year old man was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The 1 year old remains in hospital in a critical condition.
The driver of the VW stopped to speak to police at the scene.
Anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage taken in the area at the time is being urged to contact South Yorkshire Police on 101.
