Nine more charged with violent disorder in connection with Rotherham rioting
A total of 100 people have now been charged
Nine more people have been charged in connection with the rioting outside of a hotel in Rotherham last year.
Crowds clashed with police outside the Holiday Inn Express in Manvers in August, in the wake of the Southport stabbings.
It takes the total number of people charged in the case to 100, with 85 of those already being sentenced to a combined 213 years in prison.
Those freshly charged with violent disorder include:
Elarna Abbey-Garner, aged 19, of Station Road, Dunscroft. She will appear before Sheffield Magistrates’ Court on 17 March.
Casey Roughley, aged 21, of Windsor Street, Thurnscoe. He appeared before Sheffield Magistrates’ Court on 6 March and will appear before Sheffield Crown Court on 13 March.
Dion Wragg, aged 26, of Assembly Way, Barnsley. He will appear before Sheffield Magistrates’ Court on 12 May.
James Garbutt, 40, of Kingsbrook Chase, Rotherham. He will appear before Sheffield Magistrates’ Court on 7 April.
Jack Knight, 21, of The Crescent, Barnsley. He will appear before Sheffield Magistrates’ Court on 24 April.
A 17-year-old boy, who can’t be named for legal reasons. He will appear before Barnsley Magistrates’ Court on 26 February.
Lee Whitelam, 33, of Town Lane, Rotherham. He will appear before Sheffield Magistrates’ Court on 31 March.
Darren Ward, 54, of Norville Crescent, Darfield, Barnsley. He will appear before Sheffield Magistrates' Court on 3 March.
Philip Wood, 22, of Milton Street, Bootle, Sefton. He will appear before Sheffield Crown Court on 28 March.
