Three more men jailed for involvement in rioting in Rotherham

The trio received sentences totalling seven years for their part in the disorder in August

Three more men have been jailed for their roles in the rioting outside a hotel in Rotherham back in August.

Crowds clashed with police outside the Holiday Inn Express in Manvers, following misinformation shared online about the Southport stabbings.

41 year old Gavin Lunn, of Billingley View in Bolton-upon-Dearn, was caught on camera swinging a bin at officers, before throwing missiles.

He was also part of a group filmed damaging windows at the front at the hotel.

Lunn admitted to violent disorder and was jailed for three years at Sheffield Crown Court yesterday (October 21).

64 year old Michael Woods, of Ainsdale Avenue in Goldthorpe, handed himself into officers after he was seen shouting in officers' faces, and threatening them with a dog.

He denied wrongdoing but ultimately admitted to violent disorder at Sheffield Magistrates' Court, receiving a two year sentence..

24 year old Scott Kendal was also seen throwing missiles at officers and the hotel itself.

Kendall, of Sandymount Road in Wath-upon-Dearne, admitted to violent disorder at Sheffield Magistrates’ Court and also received a sentence of two years.
