Man dies after crash near Sheffield's Northern General Hospital

The man in his 50s passed away in hospital after the collision

A man has died after a crash close to the Northern General Hospital in Sheffield on Sunday.

Officers were called to the junction of Barnsley Road and Herries Road at 2:48pm. A black Mercedes had crashed into a building close to the hospital entrance.

The man, who was in his 50s, later passed away in hospital.

Investigations are ongoing and witnesses are being urged to contact South Yorkshire Police on 101.
