Man arrested on suspicion of murder after death of parcel delivery driver from Sheffield

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a Sheffield parcel delivery driver in Leeds.

Police say 42 year old Claudiu-Carol Kondor - who is from Sheffield - died at the scene in Wortley on Tuesday evening after his van was stolen while he was making a delivery.

Nearly 10 thousand pounds has been been raised for his family from an online fundraiser so far.

A Police statement said:

"Detectives investigating the murder of a parcel delivery driver in Leeds have arrested a man.

"The 32-year-old man, from Leeds, was arrested last night on suspicion of murder in relation to the death of Claudiu-Carol Kondor.

"Mr Kondor, aged 42, from Sheffield, was pronounced dead at the scene in Heights Drive, Wortley, on Tuesday evening after his silver Ford Transit Cargo van was stolen in Alliance Street while he was making a delivery.

"The arrested man remains in custody and detectives from West Yorkshire Police Homicide and Major Enquiry Team are continuing to progress the investigation."
