Four jailed after £400,000 Sheffield drug dealing operation dismantled
The four ran drug lines selling the Class A substances in the south east of Sheffield
Four men have been jailed after being linked to the sale of heroin and crack cocaine worth more than £400,000 in Sheffield.
Keelon Cartledge, Christian Kennedy, Lewis Showell and Reece Young ran four different drug lines to distribute the Class A substances across Sheffield's south east between May 13 2023 and March 25 2024.
The police investigation connected the men to phones used to operate the drug lines and seized more material during raids at their associated addresses.
The sentences at Sheffield Crown Court were as follows:
Keelon Cartledge, 24, of Harcastle Gardens, Sheffield, was sentenced to nine years behind bars
Christian Kennedy, 25, of Skelton Drive, Sheffield, received a six years and nine months prison term
Lewis Showell, 27, of Cawdor Road, Sheffield, was also given six years and nine months.
Reece Young, 23, of Smelter Wood Court, Sheffield, was sentenced to five years and three months.
Detective Sergeant James Dyson said: “These four offenders worked together, with Cartledge as the ringleader, to supply more than four kilograms of crack cocaine and heroin in a relatively short period of time.
“At one point, a phone used to run one of the drug lines was even taken on holiday with them so that their criminality could continue.
“Diligent phone work and extensive intelligence gathering have allowed us to smash this operation wide open, and I’m pleased the four men have been handed combined prison sentences of more than 26 years.
“Those involved in the sale of drugs take advantage of the most vulnerable in our society and we work daily to disrupt offenders who often think they are untouchable. But, in reality, they are far from it.”
