A man has been charged with the murder of a missing Barnsley man, whose body was discovered earlier this year.

Richard Dyson was 55 when he disappeared in November 2019, with his remains being discovered on Broadcarr Road in July.

It was later determined he died from shotgun wounds.

Christopher Wright, 72, of Sheffield Road in Hoyland, has been remanded in custody to appear at Sheffield Magistrates’ Court today.

A second suspect, also 72, has been re-arrested on suspicion of murder and released on bail.

Richard's family have been informed of developments and officers continue to appeal for information about the case.
