South Yorkshire Police have launched an appeal for information and witnesses following a fatal crash in Doncaster.

The incident took place on the A19 in the Askern area of the city between the junctions with Manor Way and Rockley Lane at 5:30pm on Friday (November 1st).

Officers were called to the area following reports of a serious collision involving a motorbike and two cars.

When responders arrived at the scene, they found a black Yamaha motorcycle, a red Land Rover Evoque and a grey Seat Leon had been seen colliding during the incident.

Emergency services attended the scene, including paramedics, who treated the driver of the motorcycle.

However, despite their best efforts, the driver of the Yamaha was pronounced dead at the scene, and their family are being supported by specialist officers.

The road had been closed to traffic whilst forensic enquiries were carried out, but has since been re-opened to the public.

South Yorkshire Police are now asking people who may have been travelling in the area at the time of the crash to get in touch as soon as possible.

Those who may have witnessed the collision can speak with the force by calling 101 and quoting incident reference number 832 from November 1st.
