Police in South Yorkshire have confirmed they have found a body in the search for a missing woman from Barnsley.

Officers had been looking for 44-year-old Claire Driver from Barnsley after she went missing on June 24th.

She had last been seen between 2:30pm and 3pm at the junction of Silkstone Lane and Bull Haw Lane in the suburb of Silkstone.

In the days before she had gone missing, Claire had been seen on CCTV footage in both Barnsley and Stainsborough.

South Yorkshire Police launched an appeal to find Claire soon after she was reported missing, though no leads led to her discovery.

However, in the early hours of Sunday morning (September 15th), South Yorkshire Police confirmed that a body had been found in the search for the missing woman.

In a statement released on their social media, the force said: "A body has been found this morning (15 September) in the Silkstone area of Barnsley.

While formal identification is yet to take place, we do believe it to be missing woman Claire Driver.

Her family has been informed. Thank you to everyone who shared our appeals."
