Two men charged following St Fagans burglary

Two men have been charged with a burglary at St Fagans National Museum of History, Cardiff.

Gavin Burnett, 43, and Darren Burnett, 50, both from Northampton, are due to appear at Northampton Magistrates' Court today.

South Wales Police continues to investigate the burglary which was reported at around 12.30am on Monday, October 6.

Several items, including Bronze Age gold jewellery, were stolen from a display case in the main building.

The investigation remains ongoing to trace and locate the outstanding stolen items.

Detective Inspector Bob Chambers, from South Wales Police, said: “We would once again like to thank Northamptonshire Police for their assistance during the investigation, the museum for its support, and members of the public who responded to our appeal for information.”

A 45-year-old woman from Northamptonshire has been arrested as part of the investigation and is on police bail.
