Three in court over ATM thefts across the country

Three men have appeared in court over ATM thefts across the country.

Following a Thames Valley Police led investigation, working in conjunction with Avon and Somerset Police, Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary and Gloucestershire Police, three men have been charged in connection with ATM thefts across the UK.

Aled Carroll, aged 27, of 15 Arfryn, Carmarthenshire, Luke McCarthy, aged 27, of Snowdrop Drive, Bristol and Neil McCarthy, aged 40, of Kingsway, Bristol were each charged with one count of conspiracy to steal.

The charges relate to 20 incidents of theft from ATMs between 16 May 2024 and 9 January 2025 across the South of England and the Midlands.

They appeared in Reading Magistrates Court on Friday 11 January; Luke McCarthy was remanded while Aled Carroll and Neil McCarthy were released on court bail.

They are all due to appear at Reading Magistrates’ Court on Monday 3 February.
