Firefighters rescue stuck horse in Lampeter

The horse was found stuck in a ditch on his back on Sunday afternoon.

Crews are being commended for their swift action to rescue a male horse that had become stuck in a ditch on his back in Lampeter.

At 3.58pm on Sunday, February 2nd, the Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service (MAWWFRS) crews from Carmarthen and Lampeter Fire Stations were called to an incident in Cwmann.

They successfully rescued the horse using strops, slide, hooks and farm machinery before transporting the horse from the field to his stable where he was cared for by a veterinarian.

Crews left the scene at 5.45pm.

Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service has specialist Animal Rescue Teams based at Pontardawe, Carmarthen, Machynlleth and Rhayader Fire Stations who use a variety of specialist animal rescue equipment.
