Rail enthusiasts will be able to get a glimpse of the Flying Scotsman in Hampshire and Wiltshire.
The famous locomotive will be making its way from London Victoria to Salisbury, via Basingstoke and Andover on Thursday morning.
This afternoon, the service will head towards the south coast passing through Romsey, Southampton Central, Southampton Airport Parkway and Eastleigh before returning to Salisbury.
Enthusiasts are being urged not to venture onto the line to get a close view.
A spokesperson for The Steam Dreams Rail Co said: "While we understand interest in Flying Scotsman will be extremely high, we urge those wishing to view it to do so from a safe vantage point.
"It is vital that spectators do not venture onto the railway as a full timetable of regular services will be running.
"We are working very closely with Network Rail and the British Transport Police with this approach as Flying Scotsman’s mainline tours have sometimes been marred by several dangerous incidents of trespass – members of the public, including those with young children, were seen walking along the tracks and taking photographs of Flying Scotsman while other trains continued to pass on opposing lines.
"During Flying Scotsman's inaugural run, a combined total of 8 hours of delays affected 59 services, costing ÂŁ60,000 in compensation."
Flying Scotsman was the world's first steam locomotive to officially hit 100mph in service in 1934.
