The owners of an ice cream parlour in the New Forest say the 'show must go on' after a van smashed through its front window.

Toots Sweets in Lymington is still open, despite the damage.

Police say they were called in the early hours of Bank Holiday Monday.

In a statement, Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary said: "We were called at 12.49am on 29 August with reports of a van colliding with a shop storefront in Lymington High Street.

"No injuries were reported.

"David Coppinger, aged 52, of Almansa Way in Lymington, has been charged with drink driving and has been bailed to attend Southampton Magistrates’ Court on 21 September."
