Three treated after fire destroys flat in Portsmouth
Three people have been treated by paramedics following a fire which has destroyed a flat in Portsmouth
Crews from Southsea, Cosham, Fareham, Havant and Portchester were called to Copnor Road shortly before 17:30 on Sunday.
Flames and smoke had spread from the first-floor of the building into the roof.
Police officers closed the road.
The first-floor and roof were destroyed in the blaze.
Relief crews from St Mary’s and Hightown took over from those firefighters who were first on the scene and had been working for several hours.
Firefighters returned to their stations just after midnight.
Fire Investigation Officers will attend the scene on Monday morning to ascertain the cause.
