The family of a man stabbed to death in his home in Southampton say they are devastated by the 'senseless, cowardly and murderous act'.

Mark Noke, 64, was found with a single stab wound to the chest in his flat in Warburton Road in Thornhill in the early hours of Saturday.

Three men questioned on suspicion of murder have been bailed.

Meanwhile, Jack Follett, 23, of International Way, Southampton, has been charged with possession of a firearm and Aaron Morgan, 31, of Bursledon Road, Southampton, has been charged with being concerned in the supply of controlled substances.

Paying tribute, Mark's family said: "Mark was a kind and loving member of our family who also touched the lives of so many others with his warmth, kindness, and generosity.

"He was a devoted, loving father who was committed to caring for his son.

"Mark’s passing has left a void that will be deeply felt, not just by his family but by all who knew him.

"Mark had a gift for making people feel seen and heard. He had a ready smile, a listening ear, and a compassionate heart that drew people to him.

"Wherever Mark was, whatever he was doing, he would always find time to help others and would be the first to offer encouragement and enthusiastic support without expecting anything in return.

"We are devastated by this senseless, cowardly and murderous act.

"Our love for you is eternal, unfaltering, yet we could not protect you from evil.

"Our hearts shattered, our sorrow profound."

Acting DCI Howard Broadribb is leading the investigation. He said: “No matter how long it takes, our team is determined to make sure those responsible for Mark’s death are brought to justice, both for him and for his family.

“During the weekend, extra officers will remain on patrol in the Thornhill area and the mobile police station is still in place in Warburton Road, so if you have any concerns please speak to them.”
