A Grade II listed chapel in Southampton has fallen victim of what's been described as a 'distressing act of vandalism'.

Furniture was broken and stained glass windows smashed at St Mary’s Extra Cemetery in Sholing on Sunday night.

Staff say it comes only a few days after they reopened the chapel for services following cleaning and maintenance.

Police are investigating.
