Police arrest man following Portsmouth stabbing

A man was taken to hospital with serious injuries yesterday (Thursday 8th)

Police investigating a serious assault in which a man was stabbed in Portsmouth have made an arrest.

Officers were called to a report of a 21-year-old man being attacked on Brighstone Road in Cosham at 4.19am on Thursday (August 8th).

The victim was taken to hospital for treatment and has since been discharged.

A 20 year-old man of no fixed address was arrested later the same morning on suspicion or causing grievous bodily harm with intent and being concerned in the supply of a class A drug.

He remained in custody as of Thursday evening.
