The organisers of Camp Bestival say they are still confident the event at Lulworth Castle in Dorset this summer can go ahead.

Rob da Bank has taken to Twitter to say that "safety is their number one priority."

He said:

"We've been working round the clock with our production teams, safety advisory group, and public and local authorities to ensure Camp Bestival 2021 can take place safely this summer. While the delay in lifting final restrictions means we'll be taking place closer to when the remaining lockdown measures are lifted, we're still confident that the festival will go ahead."

Camp Bestival also say they are working with the agencies and authorities to make sure Covid safety measures and crowd considerations are in place.

In his tweet Rob da Bank also talked about what to do if you have tickets but are unsure you want to attend the event this year.

"Please bear with us as we work through all the information and guidance that follows, and rest assured we'll be releasing up to date information closer to the festival.

"If at any point we are unable to go ahead with the festival then we will ensure that all ticketholders will be able to rollover tickets to 2022, or claim a refund.

"Massive thanks to each and every one of you for your patience and understanding. We're so looking forward to spending 4 days at Lulworth Castle with you all this summer and we're hoping and praying that we're able to."

The festival is due to take place from the 29th July - August 1st.

The government has announced that removing all legal limits on social contact are now due to be removed on the 19 July, subject to review.

It's due to rising cases of the Delta variant and will allow more time for people to be vaccinated.
