Murder arrest after man's death outside Southampton church
Police originally treated his death as unexplained but not suspicious
A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder more than a month after a 52-year-old man died outside a church in Southampton.
Paramedics found the injured man near Freemantle United Reformed Church on Shirley Road on 19 August.
A short time later, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police originally treated his death as unexplained but not suspicious.
A police spokesman said: "Following new information which has come to light, we have now arrested a 46-year-old man from Southampton on suspicion of murder in connection with this incident.
"He has been released from police custody on conditional bail while our enquiries continue.
"The man's family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers."
