Motorcyclist fighting for life after Lyndhurst collision

Police have questioned a man on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving

A motorcyclist is fighting for his life following a serious collision in Lyndhurst.

Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary were called to the junction of Gosport Lane, A337, and the A35, at around 12:35pm on Friday.

A white and red curtain side goods vehicle and a black Honda motorcycle were involved.

The motorcyclist, a man in his 60s in New Milton, remains in hospital where he is being treated for life-threatening injuries.

Police investigating the collision have arrested a 52-year-old man from Bognor Regis on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

He has been released under investigation as enquiries continue.

Detectives are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision, or has any dashcam or other footage, to get in touch.

They are particularly keen to speak with the driver of a grey 2022 registration Seat car, which had roof bars on, and arrived at the scene soon after.
