Motorcyclist dies in Christchurch collision

A man in his 40s has died after the motorbike he was riding was involved in a collision in Christchurch this morning (Friday 30th September).
Police were called to Barrack Road, at the junction with Avenue Road, at around 8.50am today.
A grey Suzuki Swift and a black Kawasaki motorbike were involved in the crash.
The rider, who's from Bournemouth, died at the scene - his next of kin have been informed.
The road remains closed this afternoon while investigations are being carried out.
Police Sergeant Sarah Jones, of the traffic unit, said:
“Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who sadly died.
“An investigation is underway to establish the full circumstances of the incident and I would urge anyone who witnessed what happened to please come forward.
“I am keen to speak to any motorists who were travelling along Barrack Road and may have captured anything of relevance on dashcam footage.
“Finally, I would like to thank the public for their patience and understanding while the road closure is in place. This allows us to safely deal with the incident.”
