Mental health charity targeted by thieves twice in a week
Christmas trees and plants were among the items stolen
A Southampton charity which supports people with mental health issues has been targeted by thieves twice in a week.
Mayfield Nurseries in Weston says it'll have a 'huge impact' on its work with plants and Christmas trees stolen.
The charity provides horticultural therapies to help people with mental health issues or dementia.
In a statement on its Facebook page, Mayfield Nurseries said: "We are saddened to report that, for the second time this week, Mayfield Nurseries was broken into last night and items have been stolen.
"Mayfield Nurseries is a charity providing a welcoming and safe space for all and every penny we make is invested back into helping people with mental health issues in our community. An incident like this has a huge impact on us, particularly the staff and regular visitors to Mayfield.
"Please can we ask everyone, if you see plants, Christmas trees or any other products labelled with Mayfield Nurseries, for sale elsewhere - please let Southampton Police know and quote incident number 20221124-0441.
"Thank you for your help and support."
