Isle of Wight: Man trapped in waist deep mud
Fire crews used portable platforms to reach the man
Fire crews have rescued a man stuck waist deep in mud on the Isle of Wight.
They were called to a beach near Nodes Point at St Helens at 12.15pm on Saturday.
Crews used portable platforms called mud paths to reach him and he was handed over to paramedics.
It follows two separate mud rescues on the island last weekend.
Fire crews have issued a warning to people to be cautious when walking in muddy areas, as it can be often deeper than it looks.
