Homes evacuated as fire spreads from garage
The blaze spread to trees and bushes in Leigh Park, Havant
Two people have been treated for the effects of breathing in smoke following a large fire in the back garden of a house in Havant.
Crews were called to tackle the flames, which had spread from a garage to trees and bushes in Hermitage Close in Leigh Park, shortly after 4.00pm on Thursday.
A caravan, outbuildings and gas cylinders were also involved in the fire which led to nearby homes being evacuated.
Two motorcycles and a car were also destroyed.
A fire service spokesman said: "Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used jets and hose reels to extinguish the fire before they dampened down.
"The cylinders were cooled and their temperatures monitored before it was safe for the cordons to be lifted and residents allowed to return to their homes."
