Foster family pay tribute to 'kind, beautiful and innocent' stabbing victim
Aimen Ahmed, 18, was stabbed in Portsmouth's Guildhall Square
A teenager who died after being stabbed in Portsmouth city centre has been named as a "kind, beautiful and innocent soul" who was in foster care.
Aimen Ahmed, 18, from Horndean, died following the incident in Guildhall Square, at about 11.00pm on Saturday.
A 23-year-old man from Portsmouth has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody for questioning.
The foster family of Mr Ahmed said in a statement released through Hampshire police: "Aimen was such a kind, beautiful and innocent soul whose huge infectious smile melted your heart and made you laugh.
"He was a boy with dreams and quiet determination, who worked hard at college and wanted to achieve something with his life.
"His tragic death is unjust and incomprehensible and he will be sadly missed by all those that were privileged to have been part of his short life."
A force spokesman said: "We are still keen to speak to anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the Guildhall Walk and Guildhall Square areas at around 11pm on Saturday 29 July that could help our enquiries."
Three teenagers, aged 15, 16, and 17, were initially arrested before being released with no further action to be taken and are being treated by police as witnesses to the incident.
