Fire at landfill site in Fordingbridge
Crews were called to the site off Alderholt Road at 11.00pm on Monday
Crews from across Hampshire and Dorset have been tackling a fire at a landfill in the New Forest.
They were first called to the scene off Alderholt Road in Fordingbridge at just before 11.00pm last night (Monday 30th September).
People living nearby were asked to keep windows and doors closed due to smoke.
Crews used plant machinery to turn over the burning waste and aid with tackling the blaze.
They've remained on site today too, dampening down to area to prevent any hotspots catching alight again.
The cause of the blaze is unknown at this stage.
