Drivers warned of M27 weekend closures
Motorists are being reminded to plan ahead if they are intending on using the M27 in Hampshire in the coming weekends
The westbound M27 will be closed between junctions 11 (Gosport) and 9 (Whiteley) from 9pm on 24 September until 6am on 27 September 2021.
The eastbound M27 will then be closed between junctions 9 and 11 from 9pm on 1 October until 6am on 4 October.
Signed diversions will be in place.
It's due to what highways bosses are calling the "deep reconstruction" of the carriageway between junction 9 and 11.
Congestion is expected, so drivers are advised to plan ahead and leave extra time for their journeys.
Drivers heading westbound should leave the M27 at junction 11 onto the westbound A27, to re-join the M27 at junction 9.
Traffic travelling eastbound should leave the M27 at junction 9 and take the third exit at the roundabout onto the A27 towards Fareham. Drivers should continue on the eastbound A27 and re-join the M27 at junction 11.
