Firefighters were called to help free Penny the Jack Russell
A dog has been rescued after being stuck down a rabbit hole in Wareham Forest for 18 hours.
Fire crews from Poole were eventually called on Wednesday morning to help free Penny the Jack Russell.
A spokesperson for Poole Fire Station said:
"Firefighters at Poole are specialists in animal rescue techniques but this was a smaller and simple rescue.
"Penny had been trapped for 18 hours before the fire service were called to intervene.
"Thankfully Penny wasn’t too affected by her little adventure."
She was reunited with her owner.
