Rise in COVID-19 patients in Dorset hospitals
Public Health Dorset say they are monitoring the trend
Last updated 7th Feb 2022
There's been a rise in the number of people in Dorset hospitals with Covid-19.
90 are currently being treated in hospitals in the county, which is up from 61 last week.
Public Health Dorset say they are monitoring the situation, but they also say we are seeing fewer people needing intensive care and some patients may also be there primarily for another condition.
Infection rates in Dorset have continue to gradually rise over the past week.
Cases remains lowest in the over 65's and highest amongst school aged children.
Since January 31, the UK Health Security Agency has changed the way it reports coronavirus cases.
It means if one person tests positive for the virus more than 90 days after the first infection, two infection episodes will be recorded.
