Community rallies round to help Gosport family
A Gosport family say they have been left with virtually nothing after a devastating fire ripped through their home
Firefighters were called to Howe Road shortly before 10.30am on Friday.
Kerris Lawton, 21, was rescued by a firefighter who led her out of the house and down a ladder.
She was treated for smoke inhalation before being taken to hospital.
Kerris's dog Lexi was given oxygen.
A family friend has set up a GoFundMe page to help the family who are facing vet bills of over £1,000 and large repair costs.
Ms Lawton's partner, Taylor Hemmings said: "The house is ruined. Everything is smokey and smells. They have little clothes and a lot of photos have gone up in flames.
"It's devastating to see. We're really hoping the community of Gosport can help."
Fire station manager Carl Halewood said: "We were able to perform a successful rescue thanks to the quick and efficient response from our crews.
"Their swift actions ensured we were able to prevent the fire from spreading and causing more damage to the property."
