'Distressing' carjacking in Bournemouth car park
Police are investigating what happened at the Pavilion spaces
A man's been attacked by a gang in balaclavas during a car-jacking in Bournemouth.
It happened at around 9.30pm last night (Monday 12th August), as he parked in Pavilion Car Park, off Westover Road.
One of the thieves opened the door of his light blue Peugeot 108, and hit him with a baton before taking his car.
The victim, in his 20s, left the scene, and suffered an injury to his shoulder.
The offenders then drove his car out of the car park.
Detective Sergeant Kate Brew, of BCP CID, said:
“This was a very distressing incident for the victim, and we have launched a full investigation to identify those involved.
“We are exploring a number of active lines of enquiry and from our investigation we understand there were a number of people in the area around the time of the incident.
“I would urge any witnesses to please contact us and we are also keen to hear from any motorists who may have captured relevant dashcam footage.”
