A body has been found by Hampshire detectives investigating the disappearance of a man last seen six weeks ago.

The family of 36-year-old Kiran Pun, who's from Amesbury in Wilsthire, have been informed, although formal identification hasn't yet taken place.

Hampshire Police say the discovery was made at Brickfields Country Park in Aldershot yesterday afternoon (Sunday 15th January), in an area of shrubbery.

Kiran's family are being supported by liaison officers from Hampshire Police, as investigations continue

DCI Adam Edwards, Head of Major Crime at Hampshire Police said:

"We are working hard now to understand what has happened to Kiran and to be able to provide answers to his family at what is no doubt a very difficult time for them.

"We are keeping an open mind and will be making a number of enquiries in the coming days to formally identify him, with a post mortem due to take place tomorrow.

"It is really important for us to now understand how and when Kiran came to be in Brickfields Country Park.

"If you have seen anything suspicious or that didn't look right in the area, then please can you get in touch with us.

"Any sightings of Kiran or any information, however small it may seem to you, could be vitally important to our enquiries."

Kiran had last been seen on December 1st 2022, on CCTV as he got off a bus at Aldershot railway station.

He'd travelled by train from Andover to Farnborough and then by bus.

There's still an appeal for anyone who might have seen Kiran to get in touch with Hampshire officers, on 101 - or by calling Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

During the investigation so far, five people have been arrested and bailed, on suspicion of murder.
